News - February 2011

by Alun Email

Welcome to 2011! Somewhat belated I know, however, this will be the first Newsletter that I have sent out this year - despite the fact that we're three-quarters of the way through February already! This goes to show you that we cannot hang around when it comes to creating the life we want and enjoying it as we do. If we do hang about, we'll end up regretting it later on whilst singing our "shoulda, woulda, coulda" song!

Time is moving on and so it's absolutely key for us all to understand what we want from life. It's also important to understand that we cannot go back to the way things were. Life is evolving and that's what this issue particularly focuses upon - our personal evolution and moving forward.

So, without further ado and waffle, I will leave you with News from LifeSense - because, after all, it does make sense to make sense of your life!

What do you want? Why do you want it?

Earlier this year, at the beginning of January really, you may well have devised yourself some wonderful resolutions. Well – whether they’re wonderful or not is your choice really! There’s no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ about whether you should make resolutions. Indeed, there is no should at all – only the “shoulds” we force upon ourselves! Whether or not you made resolutions, let me ask you this: Do you know what you want from life? Do you have any idea where you’d like to be headed? If you can’t answer those questions, perhaps ask yourself “Do I want to know what I want?” and hopefully the answer will be yes! But, even if you answer “no” you’re still answering, because wanting not to want to know, is still a want! Confused?!

Everything we do requires a choice. Even doing nothing. When we do nothing we have chosen to do nothing. This is where we take responsibility for where we are in our lives right now. If we’re not where we want to be but are not doing anything about changing it we cannot blame anyone else for that. If we don’t know where we want to be, or what we want to do, and don’t do anything about that, we’re creating a rut for ourselves that will just get deeper and cause us to feel more and more unhappy. There is no blame here… but there is taking responsibility for ourselves.

So, getting back to what you want. Think about the things you want in life. That may include a new job, new car, a holiday, to attend a concert or event, a more stress-free existence, to be fitter, move home, to weigh less and so on. Each and every person on this planet wants things that will, ultimately, make them feel happier or more fulfilled. But what each person wants is specific to them, and what happiness means to them is unique.

Often, the reason we do not achieve what we want is because we’re not 100% sure why we want it OR we want it because we think we should want it! Even worse, sometimes we want things because other people want us to want them and we don’t want to upset them! And we wonder why we don’t always achieve things!?!

The first step to living a more fulfilled life, is to understand what we want. So here’s an exercise for you.

1) Make a list. Write down everything in life you currently think you want. No matter how big or how small. No judgments. No limitations. All you’re doing right now is making a list, so let go of those “that’s too big”, or “I’ll never achieve it” thoughts… keep writing until you’ve run out of thoughts.

2) Review the list and put a tick by those things you want for yourself, and a cross by those things you want for other people. The ones you’re going to be working on are the ones you want for yourself. Let other people take responsibility for what they want – after all, do you want other people to take responsibility for what you want?

3) Take a fresh piece of paper and, as a heading, write down the first thing on your list that you want for you. Then, begin writing about why you want it. For example: Why do you want that new house? What will it bring you? What will it enable you do to? When you’ve exhausted that, ask yourself, why will it bring you those things? Why will it enable you to do those things? Why do you want to do those things? How is that going to make you happier and more fulfilled? What else will it bring you? And so on. Keep going. As you write your list, get into the feelings of WHY you want it. Keep writing and asking “why” until you can’t write any longer. Then take a break and come back to it again a little later.

4) Work through your list of “Wants”, new piece of paper for each. As you work through them, get into the feeling of each one. As you work through them, imagine you have them already. What are they bringing you that you don’t already have?

There are two reasons for this exercise. Firstly, it’s to help you motivate yourself to make changes and take “feel good” actions to moving more towards, and attract to you, the things you want. When we know what we want and why we want it, we’re much more likely to obtain it. Secondly, we live in a vibrational universe which does not distinguish the difference between the feeling of actually having something, and the feeling of the idea of actually having something. It responds to how we’re feeling and how we’re vibrating. The better we feel, the higher we vibrate, the more we attract and allow the things we want into our experience.

Whether or not you try this exercise or something else, it doesn’t matter. Just as long as you find a way to understand what you want, why you want it, and feel good about it. If you don’t do any of those things then, to be blunt, you have no one else to blame but yourself about your life not being what you want it to be.

One last thing – this exercise is not meant to be hard work. It’s actually meant to help you feel good – so have fun with it!

Book Recommendation - Miracles can happen, by Julia Heywood

My latest book recommendation has to be “Miracles can happen” by Julia Heywood. You may well have read “The Barefoot Indian”, which is a simply beautiful and easy-to-read book about a woman realising her power to manifest and awakening to the Unlimited Being that she really is. In the Barefoot Indian, she is just learning and awakening to possibility and in this sequel (Miracles can happen) she is putting all that she has learned into practice, and helping others to do the same. As we become more enlightened, so too are we more able to help others awaken to their sense of authenticity and limitless possibility. A wonderful read. I read it in a day so it’s not arduous or too long! Enjoy!

Essences of Illumination - Monthly Guidance and Essence Of The Month

You may well have noticed that, for the last two months, Karen Peace and I have been sending out Channeled Guidance each month linked with the Essences of Illumination. As we travel along the path of growth and evolution, it can be helpful to understand what is going on in terms of energy evolution and how it affects us. This is precisely what the guidance each month is there to do: help you understand the Energy of the Moment and how it may well be affecting you. Each month, an Essence will also be selected to complement the Guidance, which will be enhanced by the Energy of the Moment. The Essences are there to help make the journey easier and more clear for you and all those that take them. We do not need to walk this path alone. Indeed, we are actually unable to! However, we don’t always notice or take advantage of the help that is available. Whether you choose to use the Essences, work with me and/or Karen, or work with others and other tools and therapies, it doesn’t matter. What matters is that you realise that help is there for you whenever you reach out your hand to seek it.

Back to normal

An interesting phrase that. “Back to normal”. First thing I would say about it is, you can never really “go back” to anything in the past. Most certainly you can go back a place you visited previously – but it will not be the same. Not ever. Everything grows. Everything evolves. Everything changes. And so when we “go back to something” what we’re actually doing is either embracing that change, or trying to recreate something that we remember but which can never be the same twice over.

One of the realities of life that we begin to learn as we grow, is that we cannot recreate the past or go back to “the way things were”. We often find ourselves trying to do this in relationships, especially after a particularly difficult or challenging period. “Let’s start afresh and go back to the way things were”. Noooo! You see often the reason relationships go through flux and trauma is because they need to change! The very reason for the challenge was to help facilitate learning and growth. If we keep “going back” we’ll never learn anything and never be able to move forward. The thing about that is – this Universe will continue to grow and evolve whether we like it or not! It will not tolerate “going back to normal”, because “normal” is something that is constantly changing.

Do you get that? Normal is something that is constantly changing. Life changes and evolves with every passing moment. We are not the person we were this morning, let alone last year. So, bearing that in mind, how on earth can we “go back to the normality of the past” if we’re not the same person now as we were then?

What we need to do is find a new place of centredness. A new place of normality. Sometimes we can do that with the person or people we wish to spend our time with, and other times we need to, lovingly and unjudgingly, move on. We don’t always grow together on parallel paths. Note I say parallel and not the same. No one can walk the same path as another – it’s just not possible. We each have unique ways of thinking and feeling and so will always see things slightly differently from the next person.

Rather than looking back and reminiscing about what was. Embrace the present moment. Enjoy the experiences from the past, and appreciate them all – even the ones that were painful and challenging at the time. Each experience you have had has taught you something, and so you have grown from that. So, embrace the present moment. Decide on the current “normality” for you and work with that. Move forward to normal, don’t try and move back to normal. You’ll be wasting your time and energy if you do, and probably causing yourself a huge amount of grief in the process. Keep covering over the cracks and not dealing with what’s happening and it won’t be the wall that needs repainting, it’ll be the house that needs completely rebuilding.

Forward to normal then!

The price of doing the same old thing is far higher than the price of change." ~ Bill Clinton

Referrals

I absolutely love the work I do and enjoy each and every aspect of it. I think it's so important that everyone on this planet has the opportunity to do the same. It is my aim to help as many people as I can recentre, and connect with their Authentic Self, such that they are able to create the life they really want.

If you have worked with me and found that I have been able to help you help yourself, I would appreciate any opportunities you may have to refer me to those you know who would benefit too. Naturally, I would ask you to make sure you feel comfortable doing so!

I would like to thank you for the referrals I've already had, and in advance for any future connections. I appreciate you all and could not do what I do without you!

******

And there you have it. A few things to get those creative juices flowing. I admit, some of what I've said has been quite blunt and direct. However I find that being nicey nicey all the time and not saying what we mean can cause more problems than it is trying to avoid. As always, there will be things I write which resonate with you, and things that perhaps don't. And that's OK. Take what works for you and what doesn't, with breath of kindness, blow it away.

You think your thoughts. You feel your feelings. Both of those things create the life you are living. So.... think the good and positive thoughts, and feel the delicious and wonderful feelings - and create a super-sexy life for yourself!
